Okay, let get honest… You want to call using the voip on your E71 or whatever Voip-enabled GSM, right?
Because it’s cheap(er) or even free to call landlines or whatever, right?
After quite some time trial and a lot of errors, I finally got it (I hope
)
STEP 1
Open the SIP Settings (Tools / Settings / Connection / SIP settings).
Make a profile (something like this)
Profile Name: My VoIP Profile
Profile: IETF (keep it at the default)
Access point: (your AP name)
Public user name: username@sip.voipprovider.com (replace the username with your own username, and the domain with the one provided by your provider; SMSListo, VoIPStunt, etc.)
Use Compression: No
Registration: Always on (or the other one, if you want it to be on-demand)
Use Security: No
STEP 2 - surprisingly enough, if I keep the proxy empty, I get connected.
Proxy Server Address: none
Registrar Server:none
Realm: none
User Name: none
(or just skip this part)
STEP 3 – Here’s the “real deal”
Registrar Server: sip.voipprovider.com (afterwards it will show sip:sip.voipprovider.com)
Realm: sip.voipprovider.com
User Name: username (Instead of username example, use your real username / account number, see step 1)
Password: come on… isn’t it obvious?
Transport Type: UDP
Port: 5060
STEP 4 – Setting up the internet telephony
Tools / Settings / Connection / Internet Tel. Settings
Create a new profile for “VoIP Call (username)”, name it “VoIP Call” (or whatever is easier for you to remember)
Choose “My VoIP Profile” as Preferred profile (the profile name you entered in step 1)
STEP 5
(Optionally, you can reboot your phone. I got mine directly ‘registered’.)
Go to Tools / Settings / Call / Default call type
Select Cellular to make normal calls, Internet to use VoIP to call.
DDDDDDDDDDDRrrrrrrrrrrriiiinggggggggggggggggg !!!
NOTE
Nokia phones, hardware wise whereas available, are designed and engineerd to be able to connect to VOIP gateways. Either WiFi, 3G. However, there are extra tweaks available. *sorry… no nice pics and stuff… too busy figuring things out

Hi,
Looks great but how can I find the domain provided by my provider? And for the username do I have to subscribe somewhere? And can you call landlines for free?
Regards
The domainname / server address(es) are defined by the provider, and they are mostly covered in the FAQ area, or the Help section.
For what I know until now:
VoipVoip : sip3.voipvoip.com
SMSListo : sip.smslisto.com
Landlines free or not, that depends on your provider’s rate and the country of destination.
i am trying to use this method on E66 but not work
@Jaber: it’s very difficult yo pinpoint where exactly you might go wrong, but AFAIK using the instructions above, my girlfriend’s N95 is now voip-ing
Nice article, Nokias are still the best in my books.
